NHS Ayrshire and Arran deliver a one-stop pathway for the majority of patients referred for cataract surgery. This means that the measurement of Ophthalmology waiting timescales in NHS Ayrshire and Arran is different from the routine calculation of wait and is not comparable to most of the other health boards. For this reason, the median wait for Ophthalmology treatment in NHS Ayrshire and Arran has been suppressed.
